DR. JEFFREY MOORE 

Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Jeffrey K. Moore, M.D. is a graduate of Duke University and the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery education as Chief Resident at the Geisinger Medical Center. Dr. Moore trained at the Alfred I DuPont Institute for Crippled Children and has been Board Certified since 1991 by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He is an Active Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a member of several Orthopedic and Medical Societies. Dr. Moore was appointed by the Governor to the NC State Health Care Council in 2013 and is serving a 3-year term.

DR. DAVID KIRBY 

Board Certified Sports Medicine

Dr. David J. Kirby, MD is a graduate of Wake Forest University and the Wake Forest University School of Medicine.  He was commissioned in the US Air Force and began active duty in 2002.  He completed his family medicine residency at Eglin Air Force Base in Ft Walton Beach, FL.  He served as chief of family medicine at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, GA, during which time he was awarded the Officer of the Quarter Award twice, along with the Global War on Terrorism and Meritorious Service medals.  After finishing his time with the military, he then completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA in 2010 during which he took extensive advanced training in orthopedic ultrasound.  He is currently a member of several professional societies, including the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and the American Academy of Family Practice.

DR. JOHN SPELLMAN 

Orthopedic Surgeon, Sports Medicine Fellowship

Dr. John R. Spellman, M.D. is a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University and Rush University Medical College in Chicago, IL. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery training as Chief Administrative Resident at Stony Brook University Medical Center in NY. Dr. Spellman then completed an Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, working closely with and caring for Division I student-athletes. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, Arthroscopy Association of North America, and The American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine.

CHUCK PFAFF, PA-C

Physicians Assistant

Charles A. Pfaff Jr. P.A.-C  is a graduate of Mars Hill University and the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Physician Assistant Program.  He was commissioned in the United States Marine Corps and began active duty in 1985.  Upon completion of a tour of duty, he attended Physician Assistant training while remaining in the USMC Reserves.  Mr. Pfaff came to Carteret County in 1991 to practice Orthopedics with Dr. Moore.  He has served the community providing Orthopedic services for 23 years.  For 6 years he worked at Carteret General Hospital in the Emergency Department where he increased his knowledge and skills.  Mr. Pfaff has served as a County Medical Examiner since 2008.  He has been a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Orthopedic Physician Assistants.
