Anita Sklar was born and raised in Morehead City, N.C. She graduated from East Carolina University in 1995 with a degree in Physical Therapy. Anita practiced in Wilmington, N.C. for 4 years prior to returning to Carteret County. She has cared for patients in all phases of rehabilitation, from acute care in the hospital to outpatient therapy.
Anita’s areas of special interest include:
• Sprain/Strain rehab
• Treatment of soft tissue injury with manual technique
• Mechanical diagnosis and treatment of the spine
• Total joint therapy
• Sports Medicine
The focus of her post graduate education has been the study of orthopedic rehab of the extremities and spine. Coursework includes manual therapy techniques, weight training and Pilates, and McKenzie protocol training.
She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the North Carolina Physical Therapy Association. Anita’s philosophy of rehabilitation centers on individual treatment planning, evidence based techniques and outcome assessments.
Anita practices at Moore Sports Therapy and is the Director of Physical Therapy Services.

Sarah Chewning, ATC, LAT completed her undergraduate education at Roanoke College where she was a member of the nationally ranked Roanoke College Softball program. She recieved her bachelor's degree in Health and Human Performance/Athletic Training in 2006. She served as a staff athletic trainer for several of the division I athletic teams of Virginia Commonwealth University as well as Mount St. Mary's University. After gaining experience as a collegic athletic trainer, she began her clinical experience here in Morehead as a clinical outreach ATC. Upon moving to the Morehead area she helped begin an outreach athletic training program with Croatan High School.
Sarah's areas of special interest include:

- Strength, Speed and Agility Training
- High School and College Athletics
Sarah currently assists Moore Sports Therapy team in the rehabilitation of orthopedic injuries. She serves in the community as the head athletic trainer for the Morehead City Marlins and also heads our new ACL and Injury Prevention Program.

Ann Marie Crose, ATC, MPT
Ann Marie Crose is a native of eastern NC. After attaining a bachelor’s degree and becoming certified in athletic training she graduated from East Carolina University in 2005 with a master’s degree in Physical Therapy. Ann Marie is licensed in NC and has practiced as a PT for the last six years at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in acute, rehab, SNF, and outpatient settings. She, along with her husband and son, has returned to the coast to live. Ann Marie is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association.
She enjoys world travel and outdoor sports, and believes that rehabilitation of the body should be enjoyable and revitalizing with full patient involvement. |
